Dr. Haikel S. Hichri received the B.Sc. (High Hons) and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He then received his Ph.D. degree in Systems’ Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He has received many awards and scholarships in recognition of his high academic achievements.

Dr. Hichri has more than ten (10) years of academic and industrial experience in the computer science field in Canada, United Arab Emirates, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Hichri has worked briefly in a research capacity for Hypercore systems now bought by Sierra systems, Saskatoon, Canada, (www.sierrasystems.com), and Intelligent Mechatronic Systems Inc, Waterloo, Canada (www.intellimec.com/). From 2003 to 2007, Dr. Hichri has joined The American University in Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (www.aud.edu), as an Assistant Professor of Information Technology. From 2007 to 2010, he has worked with Sharesoft Solutions FZ LLC in Dubai, UAE as a product manager and business development director. He has also been a consultant to several companies for about four years; including VRP web technologies Inc. in Canada (division of Rotoflex International, www.rotoflex.com) and Primica Inc. in Canada (www.primica.com).

Since March 2010, Dr. Hichri has joined the college of Computer and Information Sciences at King Saud University (KSU.edu.sa), Riyadh, KSA, as an Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering and a permanent research member of the Advanced Lab for Intelligent Systems Research (ALISR.ksu.edu.sa). His research interests are in remote sensing, pattern recognition, and machine intelligence.
